The Acqua Marcia Group entered the tourist port sector in 2005, with the execution of the landworks for the new tourist port in S. Lorenzo al Mare (IM).
In the same year, through its subsidiary Acqua Mare, it acquired 33% of the shares of Porto di Imperia S.p.A., involved in the construction of the new tourist port in Imperia.
In 2007, the first stone of the new tourist port in Siracusa was laid, and its structure will redesign and redevelop a significant part of the town waterfront.
The latest project in this sector is the construction of the new tourist port in Civitavecchia, a fundamental hub for tourism in the Mediterranean. The project will restore the original outline of the structure commissioned by the Emperor Trajan in 106 A.D., which inspired Bernini for the colonnade of St. Peter’s Square in Rome.
At the same time, the Company is completing the bureaucratic procedure for the tourist port in Fiumicino, which will become, according to the projects, the largest marina in Europe.
