The new Port of Fiumicino  is one of the best projects in terms of quality and facilities among the Italian and non-Italian tourist ports. IP Iniziative Portuali Porto Romano, the company who holds the land grant appointed  Italia Navigando as general contractor for the development of the turistic port,  who takes the place of Acquatirrena, subsidiary of Acquamarcia Group. Acqua Marcia is involved in the the project as a partner.

The dock will be integrated with the city of Fiumicino, in a strategic position for logistics and conections, in an area that certainly is interesting for tourists, thanks to its landscape and history.

The port is suitable for medium to large sized boats: more than 400 of the 1,445 planned berths on sale will be suitable for boats over 18 m long., not forgetting the social navigation: the «Darsena della Salute» (Harbour of Health) will be dedicated to it.

The berths are on sale not only for pleasure boaters of the capital city and the Lazio region, but also for anyone who, at a national and international level, wants to benefit from an excellent structure, ensuring the highest level of comfort and efficiency of the services, for the tourists' enjoyment of Lazio and Italy's coasts.

The shipyard will be one of the most important parts of the port, providing high level specialized assistance to big boats, ensuring competitiveness to the port on the international market. The shipyard of the Port of Fiumicino will be able to manage the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, as well as that of the boats of the Port of Fiumicino, even of those in transit and of Lazio's tourist ports.

The achievement of the new Port will be a strong incentive for local companies and services to grow, with a significant economic impact on the land and on professional and entrepreneurial employment, thanks to the availability of prestigious commercial spaces put on sale inside its area. The presence of the Tiber delta, the port of Ostia and of the mooring of Fiumara Grande can create a really important pole of tourist Ports near Rome.

As regards environmental sustainability, the Port will be built according to the environmental certification, UNI EN ISO 14001, for the activities of management of port services.

The Port of Fiumicino is located only 35 km from Rome centre and it will become a point of reference for nautical tourism also because of the solutions adopted according to eco-friendly, bio-building, domotic and energy saving principles. The use of photovoltaic systems will ensure energy saving not only for the port but also for the planned tourist structures: residences, congress centre, spa, hotel, sports clubs with swimming pools, two yacht clubs, commercial spaces on sale, a real source of pride for the leisure boating of Lazio.
