The project of urban and environmental redevelopment of the former “Chiari e Forti” in Silea (TV) will concern an area of great importance from an historical and landscape point of view.
The plan aims at enhancing the area by converting the existing buildings, amounting to a 107000 sq m total surface, in houses, offices, shops and a hotel. This area is remarkable for its extraordinary location on the Sile river; the main building facing the river, the former Molino Stucky of Silea, will be completely restored and converted into a hotel. The plan also contemplates the creation of a 4 ha park and numerous works for public service use, such as the headquarters of the Ente Parco of Sile river, a primary school and a museum regarding the peoples of Sile.
The project pays special attention to environmental protection and energy saving, through the use of renewable, environmentally friendly energy, and of advanced bioarchitecture technologies. Besides, most of the internal traffic will move underground, making Silea Parco a wide pedestrian area with green spaces and gardens. The road network will be enlarged with a direct connection to the A27 motorway and to the centre of Treviso.
The demolition works have been completed, to make way for the restoration of the former “Chiari e Forti” buildings, after the necessary building permits have been obtained.
