The Società dell’Acqua Pia Antica Marcia has completed the construction of the landworks of a pleasure craft marina in S. Lorenzo al Mare, in the province of Imperia.

The project aims at linking the coastline with the upper area, made in part of green areas, in part of recent buildings; this will give continuity and order, thus improving the tourist and functional potentials of the whole area.
The complex includes a residential sector of 60 apartments with wide terraces overlooking the sea. One prerequisite of the project is not to interfere with the landscape which can be seen from the upper area: in fact, all the structures will have roof gardens on their coverings and underground car parks.

The complex also benefits from a lido, a boatsheds, a panoramic restaurant and café, two lenticular shaped squares and a large tourist and commercial centre including a hotel, a restaurant, an emporium and the Yacht Club.
The whole area is dominated by natural panoramic spaces on one level. The building style is simple and makes use of materials such as glass and wood, which merge perfectly with the surrounding marine environment, without interfering with the natural landscape. The presence of a harbour lantern makes the hotel structure the point of reference of the complex, both from land and from sea.
All the works have been carried out with the utmost attention to the latest requirements concerning architectural barriers and material safety.

The area is connected to the Riviera dei Fiori by the SS1 Aurelia, as well as a bicycle and footpath which is being created. The access to private traffic will be controlled and limited by appropriate checkpoints.
